AWP Environmental Policies

Rugby based AW Precision Limited, is one of Europe's leading manufacturers of Punch and Die inserts made from tool steels. In February 1998 we moved to a 50,000 square feet purpose built factory sited at the edge of a wildlife preservation area,bordered by the Rivers Swift and Avon and a stretch of the Oxford Canal.

Our on-site facilities include machine tools for metal removal, nitrogen gas cooled vacuum furnaces, receiving/despatch areas and office suites. The total number of employees is approximately 140,working day and night shifts Monday to Friday with daytime weekend working when required.

It is our intention to implement and maintain an Environmental Management System, based on BS EN ISO 14001, which will address all relevant environmental legislation, regulations and codes of practice. In particular we will monitor and introduce measures to control the following:

• Prevention of pollution
• Conservation of energy and water
• Disposal of unavoidable waste
• The promotion of our environmental policy and intentions
• Procurement of legislative environmental information relative to our activities
• Employee training

To guarantee continual improvement we will review the system at regular intervals and arrange assessment against BS EN ISO 14001. Targets will be set and audits conducted to ensure their effectiveness.

We will communicate our policy to interested parties, both internal and external, especially employees and sub contractors of AW Precision, the Policy document will also be made publicly available.
